Do I need to be an experienced boater?

No previous boating experience is needed to hire one of our boats. The Plett Boat Hire friendly staff will talk you through the operation of the boat, as well as the general rules of the river and all safety measures required.

What is the cost?

Full day outings cost R1200 per day.
The above costs include fuel and safety equipment.

The Red Boat is hired at R1800 for a full day.

How long can we keep the boat for?

Full day hire runs from 8.30am, with boats needing to be returned by 16h30.

What equipment is included?

Life jackets (required by law for children under 12 years), a fire extinguisher, anchor and rope, emergency oars, first aid kit and fuel are included on all boats.

Can we picnic along the way?

There are 6 sandy beaches along the course of the river, all are ideal for a picnic and swimming. 3 of the beaches are equipped with braai areas, tables and toilets. You will need to bring your own picnic and braai equipment along.

Where do I find Plett Boat Hire?

Our reception and hire office is based at the Plettenberg Bay Angling and Boating Club, which is situated on the Plettenberg Bay side of the Keurbooms River bridge. How many people per boat?
